The Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics was established in 1990 with Late Professor R.O. Ayeni as the founding Head of the Department. The Department has graduated at least sixteen (16)sets of students with B.Tech. Pure and Applied Mathematics and three(3) sets of students with B.Tech. Statistics. Moreover, Senates at one of its meetings in May 2012 approved the separation of B. Tech Statistics program from the department that led to the creation of a new Department of Statistics.
